I'm going to be collecting up parts for a lift, and through the research I've done it seems I'm going to be needing UCA's. Which ones are better the Total Chaos ones or the PRG? Price on them is about the same. AC sells a set of UCA's and they look like the TC's.

I have the PRG UCA's that first came out with heim joints. All-in-all, I like them. PRG now has other variations of their UCA's. There's a thread Greg (owner of PRG) started on thenewx.org recently with all of his new products, and the new UCA's are in there. He used to sell the TC's before he made his own. I belive XterraVT has the TC's. Hopefully he'll chime in with his opinion.

It seems like the bumpstop on the TC's is thinner which allows for more downward travel, but has anyone had a problem with it? Or heard of a problem with it?

Can you post a link to that thread? I can't seem to find it.

I haven't heard that before, but if you search thenewx, I'm sure you'll find it.

the debate comes down to what type of joints you prefer. the bushings and the rod ends each have pro's and con's. but i believe otherwise the arms are the same. i would support PRG since he is so nissan specific and really caters to the our community's needs

The heim joints on the prg's kinda scare me, because a heim joint is basicly a bearing and isn't dirt bad for them? I'm worried about premature failure. But they are nice for the adjustable camber.

I've been running the TC UCAs for almost 2 years and working them hard this past year. So far these UCAs are holding up great.
I purchased them from Greg at PRG before he started making his own UCAs. For the most part the new PRG bushing UCAs are very close to the construction of the TCs. There might be a slight difference in the bump stops but I have yet to look that close at Greg's UCAs.
Both PRG and Total Chaos are killer companies and I would buy from both of them in a heart beat.
TC has been in business for a long time and has put out some incredible stuff for the X ( most being the 1st Gens ). If I had a 1st Gen I would be all over their Long Travel kit.
PRG is Awesome! If you ever wanted to learn something New every day just call Greg. He is a wealth of information
He has great products and will never sell you more than you need.
So, In the end it's up to you and either way you go you can't go wrong.
I got some pics around here somewhere of my TCs. I'll take a look and see if I can post them up.
Any other Qs just post them up or give Greg a call
Later
DaveP

i know it's a late reply, but if anyone else has the same question then at least my 2 cents were heard. i have had the Total Chaos UCA on my X for 4 years and my only complaint is there is nowhere to grease them. mine squeak so bad sometimes that it's embarrassing. i spray them with white lithium grease. besides the lack of greasegun access they're great. the teflon nyla-ball still needs lubrication. IMO drilling in a zerk fitting could solve the issue.
