Noob Questions:

*When on an obstacle, do you lock your transmission into 1st gear?
*I assume 4Hi for trail driving and 4Lo for an obstacle?
*Any other tips?
I agree with Suresh; unless you’re planning to permanently disconnect the sway bar leave it on. If you’ve never messed with it before now it might be rust welded-on or bent and then even if you can get it off you might not be able to put it back on. Wheel a few times with it and then see how you feel.
I agree; 15-20psi should be fine.
Auto Trans in 1st unless you’re on an access road
I agree; 4Lo and Go!
If you keep your full-size spare tire under your truck ya might want to move and strap it down inside or to the roof. Getting it from under the truck in the woods or on an obstacle sucks.
Don’t forget lunch and water.
Everyone here wants you to succeed, will help you in any way they can and will never knowingly put you in any danger... but when all is said and done its your truck, you are the only one responsible for it and your safety. Not your spotter, not the group, YOU.
You should never feel pressured to run an obstacle you’re unsure about. No one here will make fun of you if you choose a bypass or ask for help (advice on how to attack or a spot).
If you or your truck gets f%#ked up you will be paying the price, not the group of nut jobs you met online.
Have fun!
