Drive line angle looks great! Nice progress.
The new pitman arm looks beefy, is it THIS ONE?
I can’t remember if the OEM one is “keyed” or not, is the new one?
I know your planning limit straps for droop but I don’t see any bump stops. Am I missing them or is the truck missing them?

thx
yes thats the one from trail gear
the factory is keyed , trail gear is not
but box sterring shaft has reliefs in it where keys are in pitman arm so it just slides over the reliefs in the shaft.
mounts for limit straps and bump stops still need it be installed
the bump stops that were there never touched and their alignment was off
so I'm making some new ones for it. once I can cycle the suspension...lol
the shafts coming down inside the springs doubled as spring aligners at droop
and bump stops. on the upwards flex they bind against the spring.
so I have to shorten them to clear the springs.

thanks to Joe D. I got the pitman arm reamed out today
so if it ever stops raining there will be more pics to come.

it's better but still has many bugs in it.
building a new track bar ..clearance issue with the diff mount.
there are no bump stops yet so it bottomed out and stuffed the rear tire in the wheel well.
banged the frame flexing on a rock and it stalled out, fuel pump got an attitude .
so more work to do.
Charles drove most of the day so it was a good trail for him.
going for t case gears and 5;13s for it . going to try and get a little more crawling power for it.
fuel cell and a new pump.

was fun to take it out and finally get it dirty.

so.. with 4runner 1.0 retired
(Popeye) aka mikes old X , is being brought in to the for front
its been sitting since last run at freetown
found a faulty tps causing the no start condition
it was telling the pcm that it was at wide open throttle while cranking causing the injectors to shut off.
installing new tps , new fuel pump and sender assembly.. fuel pressure was low.
rebuilding one of the front johnny joints
two new front shocks
wiring up the new winch for it .

my future plans is to mate popeye the 2000 5speed and olive oil my 2001 auto
to make popeye 2.0 an automatic and streched another 4-6 inches to clear larger tires,
but 4runner 2.0 will have to be finished first....

Looking forward to the upgraded Xterra, Ernie.

BUT, if you mate Popeye and Olive Oil, won't you end up with Swee'Pea?

I recommend you rename Popeye to ‘Bruce’.... aka Bruce Banner, the Hulk. It’s green, it’s big & runs over boulders.
