My question is what floor jacks have people had good luck with? I want a good one that will last me "forever". They don't make them like the used too... My fathers old floor jack (40+ years old) is great and much better than the ones that I have blown through so far in the last 10 years.
So far I have had crap for luck:
1) cheapo china brand that broke quickly.
2) Harbor Freight 3-ton floor jack (purchased in 2001) but then didn't hold the load and would slowly lower. Then i got rid of it.
3) Currently i have Big Red Pro Series 3 ton floor jack. It works good but also sometimes does not hold the load when 3/4 fully lifted. In addition, lowering is hard to control and sometimes quickly drops (because it does not have universal joint).
Im done buying shitty cheap jacks as listed above. I wouldn't mind paying a good amount of money to get a good jack. What professional type jacks would you recommend?
Top requirements:
1) Controlled lowering, i believe i need one that has a universal joint for the load control. This will prevent quick drops.
2) Unit does not lower under load. These are the two I have narrowed down but I would like everyone's opinion or other brands that are good. 1) Hein-Werner Professional Service Jack – 3 Ton, Model# HW93652
