Very slick and cold.
Jus, Kyle and I went to the West and ran a virgin "13". It was great. I got hung up once and had to winch off a boulder I had slid onto but otherwise no trouble. We did "19", "23"and "18". Kyle ran the "Black"section but I backed out after getting hung up just a few yards into it. Jus had to give me a bit of help to get out and although I've run it before I got a bad vibe and decided to bypass it. Yeah, yeah I know; pussy...
We stopped for some lunch and then went back to the east. We ran "2"and lucky for me I missed the turn at "Pole Line"and Kyle took the lead and immediately busted through the thick ice at the beginning of that section. The ice was very thick and he needed to get strapped out. That crap would have probably ended my day. We bypassed that and finished "2"with Kyle doing a very cool hill climb near the end of it (I think Jus took a video). We ran "4"to "Yellow Jacket". I ran it backwards (falling down...the easy way) and got stuck, needed to winch after Kyle had "walked” it. Kyle's skill and Jeep are freakin' awesome...FU Kyle!
We (I) had enough for the day and did not chance the "one last trail" jinx I usually take. I did have a slow leak in my rear driver tire and Kyle and I took it off, popped the bead, cleaned out the gunk stuck between the rim and bead, filled it and put it back on for the trip back. Thanks Kyle.
Jus did a great job hanging with Kyle and me the whole day (not for the weak). The only times he got stuck was loss of traction. Great job brother.
I love running trails with Kyle and always challenge myself when he is there, thank you my friend.
