Hey guys need to bail this time! Bears in the shop both my manifolds let go again, won’t get back until Monday. This is second time first time warranty covers this time out of pocket $1400.00 Ouch which leads to a question? Has this happened to any else? Also could whacking the muffler potentionally have weaken the manifolds? Oh well, comes with the territory. Anyway have fun be safe and I will see you all in April. Thank god for the rainy day fund.

Yours is the only 2nd gen X I've ever heard of that has blown manifold studs.

Also, dude on the FB event page was saying something about MA/CT DEP being on the prowl. Any intel?

Does a crack in my windshield disqualify me from the run? About 10" and growing at 1" per day. Somehow, every single glass company in Mass is Safelite (Giant and JN Phillips are both owned by them) and they can't get to me for 10 days!!

So, yeah, am I allowed to come still?

Also, anyone recommend a NON-Safelite mobile auto glass company?

THX

Sorry to hear that Mike. I’m not entirely sure it’s wheeling related.... does your exhaust show signs of having taken a beating? ....well, ok, more of a beating than usually.

If you can drive in the road & it’s not a safety issue, you should be ok. I don’t know if the added twisting on the trails would accelerate that crack though.

I'm holding out hope I can get it repaired tomorrow. Otherwise, I'll just run with the crack. Either way it's getting replaced.

I thought Bear was a Wrangler?

Hey guys the only damage I see to the exhaust is a big dent in the muffle. I didn’t think that would cause it but since it the second time I figured I would try to cover all my situations. I also didn’t
See any threads on line so I think it’s just my X withe the issue.

Yeah it seems that way and to have happened twice, just weird. I looked online too and it doesn’t seem like anyone else has the issue.

For what it’s worth I have a pretty big chip on mine and have been running for a couple of years without fixing

A new windshield is one of my favorite things in this world.

You should see my muffler! At one time it was a cylinder. There’s quite a few dents in mine. I’ve had the muffler hooked by a rock and the exhaust pulled off at the Y. I’m not sure a ding in the muffler would transfer up front to the manifolds.

I drove with a cracked windshield at ECXC this past summer in the heat. All was fine.

JN Phillips replaced mine.

Tomorrow is predicted to be the warmest day we’ve had in weeks, with a chance of rain.

Looking forward to a great day of wheeling.

Thanks guys. Surgery went well, so now we play the waiting game.

As for the manifolds, Vicki broke the studs in the collector and that truck never saw a trail.
