I have some stuff I'd really like to take care of before the Riding Dirty run in August... I am away July 15 through the 25th so the 19th Mod day is out for me. That leaves the 7th or 14th of August. I am going to work on my X regardless of if anyone can make it or not but may select my weekend depending on the availability of others.
Stuff I need to do:
Install new shims, extended brake lines (front and rear)
Stuff I want to do:
Herculine Rockers and paint over herc with orange paint (probably a two day process)

I am not sure I can do the 7th now. I might be out of town, I will not be around over the next couple weeks but I'll resurrect this thread when I get back on the 7/26 or so. Still not sure which weekend is going to work for me better.

I will not be in town any weekend but the 14th. I plan on doing this at my house unless someone has a better place or if a bunch of guys are meeting up somewhere else. Anyone is welcome to come, including those who have their own work to do or if you want to help me out.
I haven't been able to get the new front brake lines. Whats the deal with PRG these days? I feel like I missed something.
Anyway, all I have is the rear lines and shims. Is it worth installing the rear lines or should I wait to do the front and back at the same time?
Also is re-using center pins a bad idea? It is plenty long.
I have no bed liner or paint and I won't have time to do the prep before hand so that is going to have to wait too.

re-using center pins is not terrible as long as they fit

I ran into Tom yesterday.. and by ran into I mean I saw his X on 896 and followed him into a parking lot, I am such a stalker. Anyway he might be swinging by tomorrow at some point and others are welcome if they want.
Anyway, I will likely not be back to my house till 10am or so. I am not even sure I have the tools to complete the work I am doing... ha.. oh well. If I can take it apart I can get it back together right?

Yeah that was fun. started a couple weeks ago with breaking the bolts off in the cross member removing the stock oil pan skid. Then i broke the easy out in the broken bolt. so i tried taking off the cross member to drill them out and rounded off one of the nuts. those suckers are freakin tight. finaly got the cross member out and drilled the old bolts out and tapped for new bolts.
so i go to Tim's place today to install the engine and trans skid. The holes in the cross member are just a little off, could have slightly altered the cross member at ECXC. so we took the crossmember out and bolted the 2 skids to it then installed them both together. No problems, went right in with the help of the floor jack. Drilled the new holes and tightened everything up. The X now has a full set of NX Rocks skids.
Thanks for the help Tim.
