I remember urging Dave to attend back in 2014. He was a little reluctant, but after that trip, he was ecstatic, and was glad he made it down there. And here he is returning for his third year.

I'll make it out someday but this is not the year. I'll be real for a second, I had a perfect storm of unemployment followed by lousy hours, people owing significant sums back who skipped town, taxes owed, vehicle problems (including a loud steering shriek that just started today...hopefully something cheap and easy like a tie rod end), and haggling insurance over an eventual surgery that will take me out of work for a few days. Things should be improving by the end of summer, but only enough to keep the lights on through the new year unless I can nail down a better job situation. I wasn't kidding around about the food stamp application. I really shouldn't even be getting this mod but the price and timing are right and I busted ass to save up for it, and I'd be helping a local guy get what he wants too. |

And with that bummah of a rant out of the way, here's my thousandth post on NEXTerra! I like my milestone posts to coincide with milestone mods, so here we go. Frankly, I was kinda jealous of Nick (Firedawg225)'s old silver rig when he built it up (and then got rid of it!) but I've found ways to acquire parts of it here and there. Justin (jfernengel89...is he on here?), as we all know, picked up Nick's rig and lived the dream. Recently, he posted up wanted to get rid of a certain something, and I had the exact something he needed in trade to get his truck to where he wants it, and that's how I ended up with a snorkel! So I drove out to his place today, and we simply swapped fenders - took just over an hour to get both off, switch, hook up the intakes and button back up. Took longer for me to drive one way. Even though our rigs were built a year apart, the silver matches perfectly on both - I inherited some of his wheeling dings, and instead of a giant gaping hole he got a nice clean fender.  Now sucking at a higher level I'm gonna get a mushroom-style head for it, there are folks out there who have had success. It's currently hooked up to my OEM air box (but then, it was on Justin's) but I have a Volant collecting dust (the wrong way) that will eventually be hooked up. Thanks Justin! |

Finally did something about those Radflos I've been sitting on for over two years. Now sitting just shy of level (.5" higher in front - will settle perfectly). Should probably have ground the coil bucket while I was in there, but I'll have to put in new UCAs someday anyway... No pics. Just imagine my X with a little more fender gap in front. |

Quick updates... Finally started wiring some lights on my "headache rack" after three years. Switched for smaller round LEDs over the rectangular ones. Amber lights closer to center have yet to be done.  Finally wired up my mirror pods after one year.  And I've started having some ideas...
