Probably because a lifted Rubicon with 35s, top and doors off is pretty bad ass

I like both the Jeep & Xterra. For me it came down to capability right off the showroom floor (Pro4X vs Rubicon) & availability. The stock Rubicon can do blue trails while a stock X needs some work before being able to do that.
The biggest decision maker however, was availability. There were no black Pro4X 6speeds available in stock in the NE & I did not want to wait 8wks to order one.

The flares are a flexible polymer/plastic like material. Bushwacker calls it Duraflex.
