Jeeps back at the dealership today.... stated noticing oil drips on the driveway & on some googling found that 2014 JK's have a known issue for cracked oil filter/cooler housing assembly. Good news is that it is also covered under the powertrain warranty.

Dealer confirmed today that it indeed is the oil cooler assembly & is covered under warranty. Getting the it back on Monday. Super glad it is under warranty & that it didn't happen on the trail.

Been to the dealership more than I can care for this year....as long as they are all warranty repairs, not going to complain much. pirate1

Took advantage of the fine weather this Sunday & replaced both rear calipers. I initially took the pads & rotors out to clean them...to remedy a squeak I was hearing. But apparently the driver rear calipers were sticking.

Ended up replacing both rear calipers with ones from Napa. Had the wife help me bleed the brakes when I realize that I can’t just move the speed bleeders from the old calipers to the new ones without some thread seal!?!

What do you need to reuse the speed bleeders? Or would it be better to get two new ones?

Get Teflon tape or Teflon pipe seal and reuse. The new ones come with the sealant on them.

You have to make sure you’re aftermarket calipers take the same size bleeder bolt

Sometimes the aftermarket are different. That’s a pain because then you need the thread size to match the speed bleeders up.

I still haven’t got the ones for the front of my truck

Did some long overdue work on the Jeep today.

- Replaced the track bar (hopefully that resolve a bit of the wonky ride
- Installed a Synergy steering stabilizer relocation bracket & moved the stabilizer up above the tie rod. This should keep it from being smashed too often
- Replaced rear brake pads, fronts were fine. Hoping to resolve an annoying brake squeak
- Oil change & rotated tires

Also found that my front diff was leaking, but that’s for another day.

Two different kinds, I know. My Rubicon electronic sway bar motor is potentially toast - the sway bar is disconnected at the motor & it’s not able to reengage. Depending on whether I can get the gears to lock, one or both of these are on my thinking about list. I thought about the Currie Antirock but want a little more control on the street.

Anyways, I have the while sway bar assembly removed, have to get into the motor to take a look at the gears. Luckily my daily commute is just a few mins.

What’s dead, does the motor/actuator move when pulled from the mechanism? I think the manual disconnect only replaces the motor, you have to make sure the rest is ok first

I think it’s the actual gears/motor vs the electronic actuator. From what I’ve read the bar should auto connect when the actuator fails. Because the bar remained disconnected, my guess is the actual mechanism is stuck. Once I get some time to open it up, I’ll know for sure.
