I'm a little afraid. I have heard people say that this one is the 'little' 4Runner. I'm not sure what to expect from the 'big one'.

By the way Ernie, I couldn't help but notice the new signature. Nice.

I had forgotten about the gas tank.

I saw that sign in person at the northern exposure run. :)

Did you add any protection for the tank or just carrying a spare? 8)

So... not much has changed for the runner
went through it greased and tightened things
found that the steering stabilizer had shifted and binding on right turns
so corrected the mounting and it's fine now.
plan to replace rear brake shoes before fools run
debating on putting in the syn rope and new hawshead
weather is just too unpredictable ...lol

So... sadly I post this ....
4Runner 1.0 is being retired...
toooo much to repair or to replace to make it trail worthy again.
last run really took its toll ..
front drive shaft..blown
rear 3rd member separated from housing again ..leaking oil
right motor mount blown
left front seat and floor rotted and broken
4 body mounts have failed body floating on frame
radiator is leaking
frame broken at steering box ...
ect ..ect
will be donating parts for 4Runner 2.0 and a test dummy for modifications for 2.0
1.0 has served me well for 26 years and will live on in 2.0

unless there is a miracle... its last run was at rausch creek this year

Sad to hear that, Ernie, but man - you got a LOT of great times out of it!

I'll always remember my first experience riding shotgun in that truck.

Ernie: "See that rock? We're going to hit it!"
Me: "Uhh - "
Ernie: *guns the gas and heads for the big boulder*
Me:
