I took advantage of a couple of deals including a rebate from Yukon to upgrade the D44 with a pair of SOLID Axle Industries Forged 6 on 5.5 Bolt Pattern Hubs Yukon 30 spline Hardcore Locking Hub Set |

As some of you know the 1310 U-Joint and/or strap in my front driveshaft failed last time I was out and like an idiot I had no spare. Since I had no plan to wheel soon and wasn’t expecting any snow in Brooklyn I decided (with encouragement from friends I know and trust) to upgrade rather than replace. My friend Dave from Bandit4x4 sourced a flange (forged 5140 material) from “Parts Mike” to replace the 1310 Yoke on my D44 and got the 1310 Yoke on the driveshaft changed to a 1330 Cardan at “Mr. Driveshaft”. Looks pretty beefy! The only trouble I had with this upgrade was finding “standard hardware”. In present day Brooklyn such things do not readily exist. What a pain. Anyways it’s on and I’m hoping to get some revenge on the uphill “Black” section at the end of trail “13” at Rausch that took the MF'er out in a month or so. Thanks for looking, hope to see you on the trails sometime soon! |

Haven't been to this thread in a bit so: On the recommendation of mtnbiker49 in this thread I purchased a Midland MXTTB MicroMobile® GMRS two-way radio. and hard wired it in the truck. It was a great deal (no longer available). Radio. Mount with Hardware, Detachable Antenna with Magnetic Mount, Microphone, Microphone Holder, 12V Power Cord with Car Power Adapter and FREE LXT500 Walkies! $100! Walkies are great outside of the truck but I wanted a mobile to go with my CB so while I’m in the truck I could talk to the more popular handheld FRS without having one bouncing around or hooked in some unreachable and/or cumbersome spot. It fit nicely bolted on top of my little out of production Cobra 19Ultra III CB. I haven’t had it out on the trail yet but it seems to work okay around Brooklyn. |

Tom, can you steal the antenna from the CB? Or maybe find a Y adapter to use the same antenna for both radios? |

Although I must admit finding great satisfaction in telling you “no” I believe that, in this case, it is an appropriate response. Thanks Derick. |
