Not sure if anyone is heading up to Sunday River this coming weekend (looks like they'll get 8" of new snow on Friday!), but I'm competing in their mogul competition this weekend along with 6 other buddies.

Should be a good show since it's going back to their steeper White Heat trail (like Killington's Superstar) for the first time in years since moving it to less challenging terrain, so it should draw a good turnout; usually about 225 competitors.

If anyone's heading up drop me a PM since they also have their Parrothead Festival going on too; three days of Buffett tunes and excessive debauchery! :D

Great weekend, but my showing didn't go as well as I had hoped: Broke one of my bump skis in half on Friday during practice and had to borrow a pair from one of my friends who's a K2 rep.

He didn't have a wide range of things to pick from, so the closest was still anything but an ideal ski for moguls; 169 length (I'm 6'2"...WICKED SHORT ski for me), softer than a wet noodle, front and rear rockers (rocker means the skis have a reverse bend to them as if they've already been flexed out to help with powder skiing).

Out of 200 competitors I got 25th overall when I usually fall in the top 10 or slightly better, and 4th for my age division.

Next year, next year...

Still, in spite of everything, not a bad showing. Congratulations!

Pretty good showing for not having your own equipment. Congrats.
