The Next Chapter: My X has been running fine.Over the weekend it was leaking tranny fluid, but yet the stick reads just over full.Yesterday I was driving home from work and my "Service Engine Soon" light came on
A guy I work with keeps telling me I should trade it in because I'll have nothing but problems now with it,but how would that go over? trading a X for another X....maybe I could tell them I don't like the color or something.I talked with Speedy last night and he mentioned taking it to the dreadful "D" word (dealer)...I'm not sure what to do now,why can't anything ever be simple?

Take it back to the transmission shop. They should fix the leaking. Also, they should have a code reader...trannys throw codes too. The code may have nothing to do with the tranny. Anything can be fixed. It's getting it done right that is the problem.

Can you see where it is leaking?

it's kind of hard to see exactly where it's leaking,I'm calling them tomorrow to get it in and get it fixed...I went over to Speedy's fab shop after work today and changed my gear oil,got the water out of my headlights and took off the factory mud flaps.I want to get my X right again then I can prove the people who say "trade it in" wrong.

I took it back to the Transmission place today, there were a couple of loose bolts on the pan:evil: but they tightened it up and it should be good. They also put it on their scanner to see why the "Service engine soon" light was on and it came back as the O2 sensor is bad,so I guess my X will need to visit the dreadful "D" word for a new sensor...Forget Carbone! I'll drive a hour to get it fixed:cool:

Glad your transmission fix wae easy. I get O2 codes a couple times a year for the last two years. I have been clearing them by disconnecting the battery, or now, with my laptop software. Now that I can see the readings on the laptop, the ranges are well within spec, they may sometimes just throw odd voltages, which, in turn, triggers the check engine light. Yours may be throwing a code because of the water or because it was sitting so long. Clear it and if it doesn't come back too soon, there may not be a problem. There are four O2 sensors at about $100 a piece.

If they remain a problem, do bring it to Flagpole. Those guys are great.:)
