I won a firestik at last years B2SR and I have yet to mount it.

I need some ideas. I do not have a shrock rear bumper.

I've seen ones that mount behind a tail light or something?

Any ideas...?

Hoping to get this done in time for this years B2SR.

I like on the roof But I'm unsure what size yours is..

You could also but the ARB antenna moount and put it on your Shrockworks bumper.. ;)

It's a 3' so I think it's a little tall for the roof.

Do you plan on keeping the antenna on all the time? I ask because you could still do a roof mount. Here's what I have: Fourtreks Mount. Then you could get one of these: Quick Disconnect when you're not using it.

I would take it off when I'm not using it...most likely.

Since I offroad so infrequently I'm debating on taking my skids off too...cut down on some weight on the vehicle.

Don't you think a 3' antenna would be tall on the rack? Is there any play in that setup so going under a tree it can bend and flex?

You could always go with the hood channel mount like I have. It works awesome with the 3' firestick and is one of the best mounting locations because of the surface area of the hood.

You can see it pretty well in this pic. If you want more detail or a closer shot let me know and I will go take a couple.

Did the antenna come with a spring? When I ordered mine, it came with one, so that helps when hitting branches. Yeah, 3' might be a bit tall on the roof.

ai would get the ARB mount and a ez-over mount and mount it like I have it. This way you'll get maximum frequency out of the antenna and with the ez-over you can lay it flat when not in use.

Also add a medium spring and it'll allow the antenna to bend when confronted by a branch.

I've had mine on my roof since 2002. It's still the original antenna too. ;)

Gene, got some links for the stuff so I can see what you're talking about?

And maybe a pic of your setup.

If your not going to have it on all the time, a lot of people just mount to the front bumper. It's another option.

Here's where I got mine from..

http://www.4by4connection.com/cbaccessories.html

Either way you can mount it on the roof or you can mount it on the bumper with these things.. But if you decide to mount it on the bumper you can skip the ez-over mount as you wouldn't need it.

Isn't there a hole in the Shrock (front) bumper for an antenna?
