lol.. so i'm looking into getting some more aggressive tread tires for my truck and so thought i'd ask everyone what kind of tires they're running on their X's

what kind of tire?

size?

price?

how do they wear?

off-road and on-road performance?

most important do you like them?

maybe post some pics of your X with his or her shoes on :)

i think they were around $150 per tire.

they have worn pretty well and perform great in snow, mud and on rocks and on the road. they look great too. i've been very happy with them.

33x12.50x15 Trxus MT, by Interco about $130 each:

32x11.50x16 Interco Super Swamper TSL Radials about $170 each:

The Trxus are great on the road, great in snow, and off road, but don't wear as well as some other tires because they are made of a softer compound. They also lack somewhat in thick, heavy mud, but are great on rocks.

The Super swampers are noisy on the highway, suck in snow and ice...I mean they are barely useable; even wet roads are scary with them.

They are great in the mud. As far as rocks...I have never taken the blue ttruck rock crawling.

I thought they were too, but I just went out and checked before I posted, since I can never remember. They are TSL's, although I have probably said they were SSR's in the past since I can never keep it straigt.

TSL, SSR, LTB...I get so confused. :?

They look like SSR's, the SSR's are the only one with that patteron on the sidewall. (Several superswamper tires feature the TSL tread pattern besides the TSL and TSL radial) My LTB's also say "TSL" on them

Sorry, back on topic.

I have SuperSwamper LTB's size 31x11.5-16

They cost roughly $110 each

They are amazing tires offroad! I have no complaints about them on any type of terrain.

ON the road is a different story, being bias ply and highly agressive tread makes them very non-street-friendly.

As dedicated trail tires, I would highly recommend them. If you're looking for daily drivers, don't give them a second glance.

285/75/R16 Maxxis Bighorns

Performed brilliantly for me this winter in Heavy or Light Snow.

Have NO complaints about their off-road capability in either Mud or Rocks

Wear is a matter of perspective. I havent had them that long but I drive back and forth to Syracuse on at least a monthly basis plus I logged the ENTIRE state of Mass with them and they seem to be just fine.

Price ~ $110 before shipping. With Ship/$140 if I remember correctly.

Well, if the SSR's are the only one with that tread pattern, then why do mine have it. Mine say, on the side of the tire, "Super Swamper Radial TSL M+S, there is no SSR on the side at all.

Damn, why do delight so much in trying to prove me wrong all the time?

Gonna have to say I think Scott would probably know which tires are on his truck...just a guess.

BF Goodrich MT's

They wear very well for a mud terrain type tire.

They perform excellent on both on and off road conditions.

I paid $157 a tire shipped to my door

I've got the BF Goodrich Mud Terrain 33x10.5x15

I got them from www.4wheelparts.com all 4 for $875 that included shipping, mounting and balancing. They work for me on and off road.Speedy and Thumper run the same tires on their Pathfinders and I believe Speedy gets 3 years of wear out of his before it's time to replace them

Here's what mine is wearing.

Kuhmo Venture Road MT

32"x11.5" on 15" stock rims

Paid $300 mounted on stock '01 rims with 95% tread left from a guy on XOC
(think they go for about $120 ea. new)

So far, they wear very well, not uneven at all, 7k miles on them and I really haven't noticed much if any wear.

Off-road performance hasn't been tested to much extent yet, although they power through thick and deep snow very well.

On-Road performance is actually very good for a MT. There is noticable roll, but it is a tall mud tire afterall!

Since I haven't taken them off-road yet, (next weekend) my favorite aspect is that they are great in the snow (although horrible on the ice). They also look pretty darn good
