Any kayakers here? Went for the first time around the Great South Bay, had a lot of fun, and it's definitely a workout.

Thinking about buying my own.

I kayak just about every weekend to supplement my workout routine.

I have four lakes and a river near me and usually do a few miles early in the morning. It's awesome exercise and a good way to get out into nature. Water snakes, snappers, and other friends are always hanging out and they're cool to see close up.

Just remember to always wear your PFD. I see so many folks without it. Last year, a couple of beavers scared the poop out of me when they splashed me (a warning to keep away from their hut). I could have reached out and touched 'em, that's how close they were. I see them all the time and shouldn't had the jitters, but I couldn't see them coming because I was out WAY early (about 4:15 AM).

Sounds awesome, around me would be mostly open water, there might be some rivers out east.

Second look, my girlfriend actually lives in Sturbridge, might have to get up there one weekend and explore a little.

Ever seen one of these?

I whitewater when I get the chance. Have four boats for different conditions.

I kayak as well, and it is a really good work out! I mostly do small and large lakes.
