a friend of mine saw on the news that someone may have fallen into a deep crevase on Mt Washington. I have climbed this mountain in the winter and it is a very dangerous place. Last year i was nearly killed by falling ice. Theres some interesting reading on the MWOBS home page, i recommend checking it out. In Nov 2009 i was on the mountain when someone fell to their death.

Sadly the've called off the search. There doesn't appear to be any way he could survive this long. Just goes to show, no matter how prepared you are, Mt Washington can and will hurt you. All it takes is one slip. My condolences to the family and friends of Norman Priebatsch of Boston. Anyone know him?

That sucks to hear they stopped the search. No one I know, but it's a wake up call to be more careful. Especially when hiking alone. I carry a two day survival kit just incase as well but there is no way to plan for the unexpected like you said.
