Post subject:  Loadwarrior Bike Rack Options

I'm adding the extension to my loadwarrior soon so, my existing rack will be useless because the Loadwarrior will be too long. I remember seeing a homemade rack using Yakima bars and some kind of Yakima mounts to hold the bar under the stock roof rack. Any ideas or links?

Considering I've never seen the bike mount, does it mount to the roof bars or to the rack itself? Can't see why the rack extention would make the mount unless unless it does mount to the roof bars. Your only making the rack longer with the extention. Even if it does connect to the roof bars how were making the connection with the rack on to begin with?

The rear tire connected to the back crossbar of the Loadwarrior then the fork conecte to the front crossbar of the Loadwarrior. With the extension, the bike won't be able to connect at both ends so, I was looking to run Yakima crossabr tubes under the stock rack or Loadwarrior to attach my bike to.

I know on the MegaWarrior there was an additional crossbar that was the same size as the rack's crossbars. In reviewing the LoadWarrior parts list (make sure to click on the parts list link), there does seem to be the same crossbar included with the extention (part# 8870042) which should work for you. Basically it makes the cargo rack into a 3 crossbar cargo rack or basically splits the cargo rack into two seperate portions if you needed to tarp up the contents. Might want to check it out.

Oh cool, I didn't know that. The extension is still in the box. Thanks! :-)
