So, I tried and tried for literally hours to hang the new sliders and they would not go on. Granted, I'm partially disabled and with it comes challenges, but this should not be this hard, At least it was not with my locally fabbed sliders on my original '00, they went straight on easy-peasy.
I called a more physically capable friend of mine over, and we spent a while laying on the cold ground jostling and hoisting, and such, and finally got them hung. But in tightening them down we found the root of the issue.
There is what appears to be a bump-stop of some sort, although I cannot figure out what purpose it actually serves, as there is nothing else in the area.... and its mounting bolt interfering with the mounting of the rear-most slider arm.
I figured I can't be the first person this has happened to, but searches on the board yielded no answers.
After warming up, we did the drivers' side and removed the offending bolt on the bump stop and it went on
_much_ easier, but now I only have one bolt holding the stop in place, underneath the slider mount.
Due to my physical limitations, one of my main selection criteria for choosing White Knuckle as my source, was an
expected lack of issues just like this, as they state:
HELP!?!?!?!
