So, last Friday I finally got around to installing my RockyMtnX rear recovery points. It was super easy to do with minimal tools. -rubber mallet, 1/2 driver, 17-19mm sockets, dremel, power inverter -Remove factory tow hitch -remove bumper -measure -measure again -cut -have a friend (or jack stand) hold the rear bumper up -bolt in! -pull out stuck Sierras, XJs, and FJs!
-tow hitch and bumper, GONE!
-800W inverter plus dremel to cut the bumper
-measure twice, cut once!
-after a day of wheeling down in south jersey
-just pulled out a sierra from some muddy gravel. I'm not stuck, just threw her in reverse and got right out!
The recovery points worked beautifully! they did not budge a nanometer after a few pulls through out the day, looks clean and flush too! A lot of people thought i bought a new bumper. The best part, no more lost ground clearance/angle of departure! If you can't afford a rear bumper yet, these RockyMtnX recovery points are worth the money and cutting up your bumper!
bonus, on top of a nice hill climb
