Post subject:  Seats smelling of sweat?!
Anyone have issues with cloth seats & seat belts smelling of sweat? How did you solve it?

The Jeep is also my DD & the week after ECXC, my wife commented that the shirt I wore to work one day smelled of sweat!! :shock: And I did not sweat any great amount that day to warranty a sweat smelling shirt. Gross!!

On investigating the matter for a few days, I concluded that, the smell was from the seats. ECXC was super hot & I did sweat like a pig in the Jeep. Also, started working out a few times a week & since the gym is close to home, I don't shower or change before driving back home. My guess is that the seats don't like this.

Spraying Fabreeze helped in the short term but looking for a longer term solution. Any ideas?

In the past I've rented a carpet cleaner with the handheld attachments. I usually make a project of of it and pull the seats out and clean the carpet and spot clean headliner too. I'm in the same boat after ECXC I've had to keep a botle of febreeze in the truck lately. :mrgreen:

Man - I've had my truck 10 years, and haven't noticed any sweaty smells. When it's nice out, I'll have all the windows down to air things out.

Maybe you should drive around with your top off.

Not for nothing Mike but folks just don't want to say nutin...your truck stinks...

Anyways; Ha! You guys always make fun of the towel I carry when off-roading. I always have one on my shoulder between my body and the belt. At the end of the day I throw it out.

For the seats I have covers on them; a set of neoprene and then the nylon smittybilt ones. They don't absorb well and clean easy.

if it's that bad after the gym and the gym is "close to home" why not run or even walk there?
