That is funny and how most of the world sees NYC. I?d be willing to bet that if you stood on almost any corner in NYC looking at a map someone would offer to help you out without trying to any kind of game. I've seen this to be the case many times even when the lost folks didn't speak any English.
Try that almost any where else and the cops would be checking their IDs.

Very true, while New Yorkers (I mean city people, not us upstaters) are some of the most obnoxious people in the world, they are paradoxically, the nicest at the same time.
