Ok so I posted a topic in 2011 about acquiring my dad's old bike. 1975 Yamaha XS650. Since then I have stripped the bike down completely, repainted, replaced parts as necessary. As of now I have a solid roller, the engine work will hopefully start this week. How I got it Process Mock up Finished Frame And now the roller |

Nice work so far, Jessee. Do you think you'll have it ready for the summer? |

Thanks guys! And Mike I'm not sure. I went into it without a deadline so that way everything was taken slow, done right and no mistakes were made. Since the engine its going to be a total rebuild, it really all depends on how good I am at saving my money and the turn around time for parts that I can not actually fix myself. Right now it's looking like $1200 into the engine. (Rephasing the engine and all new electrical system) I'd like to get it running by fall, but we will see |

Starting to look good. Keep up the work. BTW, how hard is it to find parts? I have a 1982 BMW, and while some of the parts are readily available others are unobtanium. k_enn |

Thanks! It's actually very easy to find parts for this bike, as it's one of the most popular to rebuild, chop, cafe, etc. I suggest doing alot of googling and even joining a forum. Lots of used/new parts, plus they can also steer you in the right direction of where to get parts |
