Has anyone checked out the motorcycle museum in Newburgh, NY? I am thinking on taking a run there this weekend.

To answer my own question - the museum is very good.

It helps is you are either a fan of the Indian brand, or a fan machinery in general. The museum has a complete collection of Indians, with one of each model made from 1902 through 1953 (end of original production). The Indians include several racers, some sidecar rigs, and some other oddities. The conditions range from fully restored, to 1950s original in good condition, to vintage that is still in the rough.

The museum has several other exhibit sections, including hill-climbers, modern customs, 1970s customs, racing bikes, police bikes, and Harley (especially early ones). The is an excellent section of vintage and defunct American brands, including Packard, Pope, Excelsior, Henderson, Thor, etc.

It makes for a nice day trip to go to the museum and check it out.
