I said 9 or 10 at the dairy thinking 9am but allowing people a buffer until 10am. I figure we start getting our selves together at 10 and then you leading us up to the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. How does that sound?

I'm good with that. Shoot for 9:00, Depart for Old Rhinebeck Aerodrom by 10:00.

I assume you guys will prefer secondary roads over major highways. I'm thinking hwy 22 up the east side of NY, then hwy 199 over to Rhinebeck. The alternative would be to take the Taconic up.

I'm not touching the Taconic if I don't have to.

Wait, would this put us up by Poughkeepsie. I'd love to take a little trip through the Marist College Campus (I'm Alumni) if it's on our way.

Maybe if you were thinking about taking 22 to 55 that would cut us over and we could head up route 9 along the river. I'm just thinking out loud, that's all.

I'll probably be more 9:30 as it's about 40 mins to get there and I have to work til 2:30am that morning.

Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome is up by Kingston on the east side of the Hudson. I was thinking of Hwy 22 and Hwy 199 to get there, and later coming down Rt. 9 on my return home.

An alternative could be to head west to Rt 9, and take that up the Hudson to Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. In that case, I would probably head home on Rt 9W on the west side of the Husdon so as not to take the same road twice in a day.

So this is the way you are planning on getting there:

Yep, that's what I was thinking. Keep off the interstates and take more interesting secondary roads. It may be a bit longer, but who is in a hurry?

btw, I have not done that route, so it will be new territory for me. (usually I go up Rt. 9W of Rt 9 if I am heading up the Hudson Valley).

I'm cool with that.

I was just saying some random thoughts since I haven't been back cruising that area in a couple of years. I love 9 and 9W, the Mansion just north of Marist campus, just about anything.

As Kenn stated though, I'm in no rush and just love that I"m going to get out to that area.

Also, my friend is most likely out; he doesn't want to get up that early.

I'll likely get there around 9:30a as well since it's about a 90 minute ride for me to get there.

My cell is T M Zero W 1 M B U W L

Just in case you want to look at the key pad.

If it does rain, I'm going to bow out.
I've done my share of riding in the rain and, while I have all my rain gear available, it's never too much fun for me.

Accuweather is still showing good weather for Sunday. But I agree that is rains, I am out. If it is raining that morning and I bail out, I will post here by 7:00.

Also, my friend from work will probably not be coming.

Ok, so Sunday looks like nice weather, but I'm thinking that a lot of people might be recovering from when Hanna comes through Saturday.

A thought is maybe just call this off as who knows if trees may be down in the roads, stuff like that.

Just my personal thought though.

I'm going to play it by ear.
If the weather's good and tomorrow isn't too harsh, I'm going to try and make the run. But, if tomorrow is as nasty as the worst case scenario's are predicting, then I may bail.

If it isn't raining (and it sounds like the rain have passed through by Sunday morning), I am still planning on going. I don't there will be many down trees, as it should be well below hurricane force when it gets here. If there is down stuff, we can just detour around it. Besides, seeing the carnage (if any) can be interesting.

Besides, if it is called off, Tom (and I) are not available for another run this year. So for us, it looks like it is tomorrow or not at all.
