Well, the deal is done. Ok, almost done.

We've agreed on the price, payment, and he's even going to deliver it for me. Probably on Thursday or so to both give us time to take care of all the odds and ends.

I'll have to get used to the pipes, but it's a minor thing.

Thanks everyone for your help with things to look at, good deal or not, stuff like that.

Well, I"m working on a delivery time of about 6 hours if things work out. I've also put in an order for the below items.

Fieldsheer Drifter Jacket

HJC FS-3 3/4 Helmet (shield ordered too)

My mom started laughing when I e-mailed her a picture of the jacket. She thought I was joining Hell's Angels or something I think. The jacket is actually Cordura too, not leather.

Nice jacket, and it is not one of those bright-color-match-the-bike jackets.

Nice choice on the gear! Black is best.
Back in ancient times when I was a squid (Super Quick Until I Die) riding a red, white and blue Honda 1000 I sported full blue, white and black racing leathers with a red t-shirt that said ?Life begins at 120?. Most of the time, back in the day, I was doing at least 50 MPH over the speed limit so I was just a patriotic blur. Hey give me a break, it was the 80?s. Now that I?m an old fart I ride my FatBoy at the speed limit, shorty flat black helmet, t-shirt and jeans in the summer and black leather in the spring and fall.

Now that we have the riders, when is the NEXTERRA motorcycle run? How about a Hudson Valley/Catskills run sometime?

We should try for a Sunday at Marcus Dairy run. It would be a good test to see who was really with it ?cause if people baled it would still be a good time. How about September 7th?

Where/what is Marcus Dairy? Are you thinking of meeting at Marcus Dairy, and doing a ride from there? I was thinking of maybe a run up to the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome (I haven't been there is years).

Sept. 7 is questionable, but may be possible for me. Will let you know later.

On any nice Sunday morning hundreds motorcycles and their riders start their day at Marcus Dairy located off exit 3 on Route 84, a few miles from the Connecticut / New York border.
Marcus Dairy
We could jump off from there to any place you like as long as we?re heading back to the NYC area in the daylight (no night riding from this old boy).

In September; 14th golf outing, 21st B2S run, 28th Jets vs. KC Chiefs so it?s the 7th for me or October.

Hijackers!!!!

Well, I'd love to meet up at Marcus Dairy, I-84 still scares the hell out of me in a car, let along a bike.

I'd say start up another thread and make sure to hit up Jeff (Installer), as I think he's been going ever week already.

To get back on topic:

I'll be getting the bike tonight, but there's a slight delay in getting it registered. Basically the guy has had the bike for such a short time that the title hasn't even been processed for him yet. He has the bike registered so I know the title is fine, it just might be a week or two before it clears for him before he can transfer it to me.

Not that there is anything wrong with the title of this bike but you can register a bike without a clean title (NY) you just can?t transfer ownership. Is the bike registered in his name? Be careful bro.

Yes, the bike is registered in his name and I've seen the card myself, not just taking his word for.

Here's the info from the DMV site:
If the motorcycle is purchased as used, you will need to present the following documents to your local DMV full service or satellite office to apply for a registration:

* The Certificate of Title showing assignment of ownership and indicating release of all liens (if any). A Title is not required on motorcycles manufactured prior to 1981.
* Bill of Sale (PDF 193K)
* Your current Connecticut Insurance Identification Card, which can be obtained from your insurance company. The insurance card must be in the name of registered owner(s).
* Application for Registration and Certificate of Title (form H-13).
* Identification will be required to register a motorcycle. Please see list of Acceptable Forms of Identification.

So, I do need the title to register the bike in CT.
