Man it is cold but I managed to snag 2 good bass today! A pounder and a 2 1/2-3 pounder, Mepps cyclops of all things! It seems that I only catch what I am not fishing for... if I am fishing for bass I catch Pickerel, if I am fishing for Pickerel (like today) I catch bass. WTF? Taking the new boat out tomorrow as the wheeling was canceled... hopefully I can get some of those 24" pickerel I was catching this time last year... maybe a bass or two also. |

This is a small lake less than a mile down my road that is probably the best bass water in central mass. Weeds are so ridiculous that all but the hardcore locals will put up with it to fish there... that equals 20" pickerel every cast and people have pulled 8# + largemouth out of it. My record is 3 pound witch to me is a pretty huge bass. Couple of pics from this morning. 19" pickerel smaller one. small bass My dad with the smallest bass I have ever seen We are going to Quabbin tomorrow! Wish us salmon! |
