id be down, im up in the whites all the time, last treck to washington for me was in December....bad move, 80mph plus winds on the summit, -20 degrees with freezing fog, lead to an unpleasant mountain excursion but fun never the less, that view never gets old!

if anyone wanted to do anything different franconia notch is awesome as well, spot 2 cars and do 6 summits in 3 days, not a bad gig either, still great scenery and not as far of a drive north

August? I think I could do it. I know things are starting to fill up, but I think I have some free time in there towards the second half of the month. And then the beginning of September works for me, too.
