Join the Upstate NY Xterra Club for our annual UNYX Holiday Run. Get out and wheel, meet some new people, and have a great time!

Current plan for this event:

Where: Rausch Creek Offroad Park
When: 9am Saturday Dec 1, 2007 til dusk.
What: Wheeling midmorning to late afternoon.
Who: Anyone is welcome to join.

Bring a lunch, as we will stop to eat on the trails.

We may split into two groups depending on the number of trucks and the level of trails people are comfortable with.

We also hope to hang out together after wheeling for dinner, location TBD.

Most people will be staying at either the Comfort Inn Pine Grove or the Twin Grove KOA in Pine Grove, but there are plenty of other area options for hotel/camping.

Also - if you would like to, bring one Unisex toy and we will collect and donate them to help spread a little Cheer this holiday season.

PLEASE POST IN THIS THREAD ONLY IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO ATTEND, and what type of trails you prefer ( GREEN - mostly stock, GREEN/BLUE - some modified, or BLUE only - non-stock)

Ok, I'll be there! I'm hoping to run BLUE trails, but will run greens if it's easier to split groups that way.

I'm planning on being there to run what ever you and Dave run. The comp. course is a nice way to end the day... close to the exit and all that.

Just joined these forums in the past couple of days and was told about this event. I'm planning on being there as well, but I'm dead stock. I have the stock step rails on and was wondering if I should take them off for this run? If there's nobody doing strictly Green trails, can I jump in with someone else for Green/Blue?

Oh...and would anyone coming from the 5 boroughs like to meet up and caravan up?

I'll be there with my Santa hat on.

fubar1217 - You should definitely take off those step rails and consider getting yourself some protection like skid plates or rock sliders to guard against inevitable damage. Protection is key and the most important part of wheeling.

I posted it in another thread but if you're planning on going and have never been to the park, print off and fill out the membership form beforehand, it'll speed things up...

Hey dude...thanks for the info. Step rails are off. I was on the phone with Shrockworks about sliders since they'll be good protection here in the city as well.

And about Saturday, what's the plan? What time are we starting? Queensxterra from xterrafirma plans on getting to the park around 10am and I'm probably going to wait for him since he will be doing Greens as well. Sounds like the rest of you guys are going green/blue. Is 10am late or can you guys wait?

10 am is fine. We're shooting to arrive and meet up at 9, but assuming things go as usual, we probably would hit the trails til around 10 anyway.

That will give us time to split into the 2 groups, air down, and discuss what trails we want to hit.

RC is actually asking that you don't actually hit the trails until mid-morning anyways, since it's hunting season...
