Okay.... hopefully this is the right place to post this..

Log story short i have been replacing parts that are worn or rust on my 08 X
My biggest problems have been getting bolts off or breaking some bc of rust/worn. Most I can fix or replace
HOWEVER
I cannot get my rear drive shaft bolt off to replace the CV joint ( I have a bad shake at 50+mph) already did u joints and this is my #1 i need to get done
the passenger side caliper mounting bolts just won't come off to replace the rotor
AND
the front sway bar bolts won't come out either ( i was replacing the sway link bars but the old links broke and i want to replace the bushing too) so its just there with out links and i think is causing a squeak noise

PLEASE
++I need some help getting them off, ++
I have tried heat
penetrating spray
leverage (probably not enough)

I would love some help with this as i am at my wits end getting frustrated... I can travel!! I have limited tools and probably not the greatest ones for bigger jobs

Get the longest breaker bar you can get your hands on. You can get some on Amazon for about $30 that are 24". Then go buy some strong pipe that has a diameter big enough to slip over the breaker bar for that extra oomph. If that doesn't do it, drill it out.

You try putting an Impact Wrench on it?
Penetrating spray for days?
I wouldn't use heat on my caliper.
If you want to come to Brooklyn on a rain free Sunday morning the "718 crew" will get them out for you...cost ya a six-pack and a couple of smokes...

tried breaker bar but maybe just need more time for spray to soak and idk keep trying and put a pole on it for more leverage...

for the driveline Im just about ready to take it to a shop to have them take the bolts off with their impact or something but they get finicky about that tho ... I have an electric impact but it just doesn't have enough umph lol
Or ill just go to Brooklyn HAHAHA

Ha ha.
Breaker bar with the pipe will most likely work on the caliper bolts. Might just snap the drive line ones. Like Boston said, just drill them out.

Your doing all the right things. Everyone is right a breaker bar would be your best bet. If you are using a 2/3 ton jack(shop jack) You should be able to use the handle for leverage. At least that’s what I do sometimes. Also what kind of heat are you using? Mapp? Home Depot sell a mini torch kit which work very well something like this. Saved quite a few times

Hope this helps

No way!

Skiffs is a reg spot for a buddy and me. Happy to help. I’m right down by J Grays across from JJDuffy funeral right on Mendon.

Let me see what this weekend looks like or just one day after work next week. Mother’s Day and all, I’ll be more south of the state and might be packed on Sat.

Shoot me a PM with your info and we can connect.

I promise nothing, but at least we’ll give it a good shot.

Curtis
