Heads up, Nissan's Snap Rings reversed in their Front Diff. Parts book drawing.

Image

I damaged both the seal and the outer (larger snap ring) when I broke my passenger side Front Axle wheeling the Northern EXposure Run. Following the parts book I ordered the snap ring shown and a week later received the inside (smaller) snap ring. The parts bag was labeled clearly 00922-1400 and when searching on images for that part number, the images all showed the small ring with the plier holes to the outside - clearly not designed to snap into the housing. I then looked into where used and found the rings were used in the Patrol and it's drawing had the numbers reversed from the Xterra's. I ordered snap ring 00922-27500 and received the larger housing snap ring I wanted. The screw up cost me a week, luckily they are cheap and I don't mind putting the smaller $2 ring in inventory.

Now I just have to talk Jeff into letting me use some garage space for the install.

Thanks for the heads up Scott
Glad you have the right parts now.
the inner ring is good to have as well it holds the stub shaft to the bearing.
you never know if you could on drop on the trail and loose it.

Don't forget to grab an extra seal for the left side too.
a pocket magnet and a length of like 3/8 threaded rod to go through the front axle.
believe it or not the right side was the easy side...LOL

Thanks Ernie! I've got the spare seals and snap rings. I will add the 3/8" rod. Is "threaded" better or just easier to find?

Any rod really 3/8 or bigger but smaller than the axle shaft.
Home depot should have the plain bar stock and threaded in their assortment.
threaded is usually easier to find anywhere
but
If worse came to worse hell ...you could use a old broomstick...
and I have before ...LOL
