Yesterday I noticed the hose clamp on my Dr Side CV boot came off, the one closest to the hub.

Not sure how long it has been but at least 3 weeks. Lots of driving and even some rain.

This morning, I took the boot off and cleaned the gease. It didnt look very dirty or wet so i just packed a crap load of grease in there, replaced the clamp and ill just cross my fingers. I haven't used that much lube before noon since college....

^thats the pic of when i was done (the pic is sideways)

I am TS'd and use the PRG extended axles which only except the OEM CV. So, ill need to get some new ones sooner or later.

Is it pretty much down hill from here?

How do i know when they are trashed?

Yeah, working on that now.

The axle keeps popping out of the diff during full lock, so i gotta figure that out too.

Wait... what??! I'm picturing the axle falling to the ground when the wheel is turned, clattering down the road & you running behind it...:-) ... well at least that's how my non-mechanically inclined head is picturing it.

Sorry, no help from me but I'm keeping an eye on this thread.. it's getting more interesting by the day.

The stub end that goes into the diff, moves slightly out during a turn when the CV is extended. Not much but just enough to be a concern.

When Im parked and turn the wheel, i can see it happening. Maybe just 5mm.

By hand i can push it back in.

No problems in 4wd on pavement as of yet. Just stiff on the turns but that normal.

Well, either way, the X is on Jack stands this weekend and ive got a good list to go through.

Check CV axles
Find mystery Suspension Clunk.
Front diff fluid.
Rock lights.
Check torque specs on wheel spacers.
And maybe my diff cover finally.
