Hmmm, I'll have to think, but it sounds like a great idea to me.
How about these?
They work great, but are hard to get. Package them with some heavy duty U bolts, and I think you would have lot's of takers.
I would buy a set.

I don't want to step on toes so if this isn't the right place to discuss this let me know... With the 4runner coming together for the season, and with us not picking up an X right away, I'm going to have some free-time and I was wondering if there are any specific parts that people would like to see being produced. It seems as though most shops with X parts are located out West so you have to deal with shipping costs. The only shop on the east coast I've seen that most people use is Blackpanther. I'm pretty well setup and I've got a connection on having having pieces laser cut. So shoot the ideas out there. And again, I don't want to step on toes so if this isn't the right place to discuss this let me know... |

Thanks for the info. I have an idea on a design that would protect the nuts much better though. What about a u-bolt flip kit inplace of this? U-bolt flip along with new shock mounts. I could make the shock mounts in either weld on or bolt on. The shock mount would basically mount on the back of the axle tube, up out of the way, raising it about 1-2". |

Sounds like a great idea. I still like the idea of bolting on the shocks rather than welding. Things do break. |

Not to hijack or steal the thunder or wind from the sails of anyone but: There is a possibility that Jim at Shrockworks may be making my skidplate I designed. I've been talking with him about it, and he's thinking it over. The skid would require you to just drill 4 holes in each of the stock spring pads and then bolt the skidplate up using 2 ubolts. One of his concerns is owner's concerns about having to drill into the metal of their truck. How do you guys feel about drilling into your stock spring pads? |

In the back of the 05's we have two 'slide' rails that we can hook things too, I'm thinking of something that would fit with that. |

Well in an 05 we had some slide rails that go from front to back. I'm thinking if you build a bracket that can stand the Hi-Lift base near the back door and top above the back seats it would be pretty out of the way. And I can't imagine the bracket being that hard to make. But that's me. I'll see if I can conjur up a MS Paint example lol. |

This is what I'm thinking, excuse the microsoft paint job on it.  I'll take some pictures later when Jay comes over to give a better example of what I mean.
Green = slide rails Purple = brackets of some sort Red = hi-Lift (duh) 
So two brackets clip into the slide rails that hold the hi-lift at an angle. |

It probably won't fit, but I haven't measured. 48" is pretty long. |
