i was re indexing my torsion bars, they were stuck in the LCA anchors pretty bad so i had to take the whole cross member off with the torsion bars attached, then had to put some heat on the anchors only way to get them of. now when i started putting everything back together the passenger TBAR goes all the way into the LCA anchor but the driver TBAR only goes in half way at most and its already all the way in at the crossmember and lined up with the ajuster bolt. i tried cranking it that way but the TBAR just sprang up and the anchor woudnt hold it in half way. this never happen to me before. |

Heat on tbars anchors is Big no no whats gona happen metall git weak so get spares its gona eat ur splines so start. Looking for spare one ...I did that b 4 and it fail while I was driving.... |

First time taking them out I had heat it or it woudnt come out, but why dont they line up? Should I jack up the car and try to move the driver lca back? |

If they were not all the way in from the factory the anchor could have developed a burr or nick in the splines where the TB stopped. The TB must be all the way in the anchor so that it touches the splined bolt head holding the LCA on that side. MAD X wrote: ...Should I jack up the car and try to move the driver lca back? You cannot move the LCA. I would try taking the anchor off of the LCA and cleaning it and the TB with a wire brush. Maybe taking a file to the splines if they are F’d up. With the TB and the anchor both out of the truck see if you can get them to fit together properly. If you cannot you're F'd and need a new anchor and/or TB. Hopefully you did not strip it when you tried to crank it not fully seated. Anti-seize on everything when you put it back together. |

They fit together fine the tbar just dsnt go all the way in while the passenger side is fine, id have to take the cross member off again because the tbar wont come out of the ajuster aswell |

Sorry but IMHO if the TB does not go all the way in they do not “fit together fine”. Besides sharing the cross-member one side of our IFS has nothing to do with the operation of the other. When the anchor is off of the LCA the TB should slide through the anchor all the way; like a finger sliding a ring on. The adjuster has grooves that sit in the cross-member and does not move front to back. It pivots on the cross-member. The cross-member does not move. The LCA should not move front to back/back to front, just up and down. The TB should move front to back/back to front in the adjuster and in/out of the anchor so that you can “seat” it all the way into the anchor. It sounds to me that if you can get the TB out of the adjuster you might be able to get it to seat into the anchor properly. If I was doing this I’d take it all apart, every part, including taking the TB out of the adjuster, wire brush clean them all, make sure that they fit together properly, then put them together on the truck using anti-seize on all of it…but hey, that’s me. |

Ok Im gona have to take it all apart again, remember how we had to heat up justins adjuster ? Thats kinda what im dealing with its all seized to shi*** , should I put heat on that again ? |

I don't like putting heat on stuff that is under that much stress. If you're taking it out stand it up and pour pb blaster in it so it sits for a day and see what happens. |

i did exactly what you said Tom, took the tbar out , it took some beating but didnt have to heat it so i was happy about that. got it cleaned up anti seize on everything put it back in and it worked perfect! thanks again for all the help! i also ordered new anchors like Mike said just incase as a spare. |

this is how she sat after i was done  and this is an hour later  the TBAR went while i was driving, not fun. dont heat your anchors/tbars i will remember that one. |
