i've had fun with my "X" till now, fixed a few issues when i got her, but now its inspectioin time and well :guns: if i could in a wooded area i would..

Needs front brakes, No biggy , just the pads, rotors are ok.

BUT, inspection station, "Front left wheel bearing is getting bad, it wiggles a bit"
and my Tstat is stuck open, keep getting the code and ran a data logger and its getting 155/170esh temps and no higher, (i'm glad its not summer  )

anywho... I've looked threw the hanes manual and nothing on the bearings, Tstat yes, its a pitta but who knows when the last owner flushed it, so thats something i can do, as well as the pads. but the Bearings?? Any pointers, tips tools, advice, help? lol

Front bearing are pretty straight forward.... although it took me a long time to get through it, mostly due to my lack of mechanical ability.

Here's the link I used for instructions: http://www.rkrenn.com/xterra/howto/bearing/bearing.htm

I bought a bearing packer from Amazon which made packing the bearing with grease a breeze. If you're anywhere near Middletown, CT - I can loan you the packer, let you take the grease I still have left over & maybe even help out.

i'm a bit of a hike from CT (5hrs or so)

but thanks for the offer, going to stop at my local parts store (they beat advances prices on the bearings by 11 bucks) and see what a set of snap ring plyers are and a bearing packer. and go from there.

since it looks like i can do it, i just need the warmer weather to do it, and while i'm at it, just replace the pads.

but thanks for the link, thats going to help a bit.
