Well the 4runner body has been slowly going away for a long time now.
Between wheeling and winter salt.
So I started repairing it with some new/old metal.

This is what was left after cutting out all the rott

Brand new rear panels for the 4runner are $800.00 each!!!
and They only come as complete sides inner and outer.
So....
Today I pieced together some metal for the drivers side
I used a rear quarter panel from a ford P/U and a spare front 4runner
fender I had.

I still have to weld the peices in, then do the bodywork and paint
It's not going to be perfect but it will be go enough for the trails
Still have to do the passanger side too.
then it's back on the trails for some new dents  .

It's looking good, Ernie. Body work is a lot of work. Anyone who thinks that it is easy, has never done it.

It does look good, Ernie. have you ever considered Bushwhacker fenders, or something along those lines?

Yeah I had a set before.
They lasted 2 months and I ripped one off on a tree
The Bushwacker "cut outs" are like $400.00 a set.Image

So it's not worth it for this one, I may add them to the big 4runner though.

WEll, it looks a bit rusty and old now. but i guess it just need some modifications and you should just buy some new auto body parts and it'll be fine.
