Not a stupid question. It works in one direction. It will pull the line in, which is good, but it won't power out. Not a huge problem in the function of the winch since I can free spool it out and with synthetic line, it doesn't get bound up. I do, however like things to work they way they are supposed to.

When powering out, there is a soft click in the solenoid but it's not throwing all the way. I'm trying to see if I can get it apart...I've already tried banging on it. l

Scott, I have a spare pair of hubs that I bought off Tom last year that I can bring with me - just in case they're needed...

As for getting your truck to a place to get it inspected, maybe I can help out with that since I'll be trailering my X up there and the trailer will be there for a week.

It was the solenoid. After fiddling with it for hours, I wired my truck, tractor and blue truck batteries in series and zapped it with 36 volts and it moved. Attached it back on the winch and now it works.

It just needed a a defibrillator to get it going.

Hope it all works out for you Scott
Man, it must be a bummer with nothing close to you out there.
Do you know anyone with a dealer plate to do the run to clear the monitors? you only need a 10 mile run to clear all but two of the monitors.
You deff. need it for B2SR
The yellow X is awesome in action.
Glad you got the winch working

I got them cleared. Four wheels off the ground, no tires, cranking tunes and driving no where for half an hour.

I can check them when you are here. Just remember, it you clear them, you have to get your emissions to complete before you take it in.

When you clear the codes, it also clears the emissions tests. There are two separate parameters on the Xterra. You have to drive the truck to get those to complete in order to pass inspection. Problem is, if you have a true fault code, that may come back as well before the emissions test run their cycle.

You can't just clear your codes and go in for an inspection.

As Ernie said, it doesn't take much driving to complete those emissions tests, but they need to be complete for the inspection.

I can show you on my laptop when you are here.

Scott...I had the same problems w/ my Warn hubs. couldn't turn them by had and had to use something else to turn them and then finally they just didn't work any more. Found out in the middle of trail #2 @ RC that I didn't have 4WD...damn that was interesting doing the rest of the trail in 2WD w/ a locked rear.

ordered new hubs from AC and just replaced all the inners of the hubs and it worked!!! :D
