My exhaust manifold has been leaking for years, although I never realized how bad it was until today. When I was at Autozone yesterday, I saw a manifold "welding" compound and figured I would try it out this morning.

This is what I found once I finally got the rusted bolts off of the heat shield.

After some wire brush action. . .

I've never seen pictures of the actual crack, but man, this thing is bad. I slobbered the compound over the crack, and I'll let you guys know how it is once it cures.

Once the wedding is over (less than a week  ) the whole exhaust system will go under the chopping block.

That's the Grand Canyon of manifold cracks. Hey, some people swear by JB Weld. I have never tried the stuff.

I've never had good luck with JB Weld on exhaust parts, it usually cracks and falls off in a few days, not to mention smells like crap while it heats up.

If your a stick welder you can try some 3/32 (Ni -rod)
It's designed to weld cast iron
I have had some good luck with it welding up manifolds in the past.
Just a thought.
