speaking of diesels.... I've got a question someone on here might be able to help me with.
I know Diesels dont have distributors to get wet when fording water correct? Is there anyway to "waterproof" the distributor for a gasoline motor so that we can ford deep water crossings?

There's no distributor on a diesel...no spark. The fuel burns under compression. On modern diesels there a fuel rail and an electronic fuel pump that is electrically timed, controlled by the cam position sensor and ECM, but nothing electrical causes the ignition.
