Apparently that is an 07 model super duty, which is having some significant engine issues. Ford has a recall to reprogram the computers. That is not a mod that came stock on that ford SD.

To me, it just doesn't look like diesel burning, but more like the blue flames of alcohol.

They have had problems with those engines. International makes them for Ford. It's actually a Navistar 366 and they made it for three years and then redesigned the whole engine. Now theres a problem because International does not want to supply Ford with enough engines since they are trying to put the new, redesigned 2006 engines in their own new 2007 trucks before the new emissions regulations which are for this year, but they can use already built engines with the old standard. Ford is in trig bubble.

I'm not a diesel guru, he may have a propane injected motor?

Could be...those flames don't look like diesel, but I could be wrong. They are too soft and blue. Then again, I've never seen diesel blow flames. It has a much higher flash point, with a lot more heat than gas. Alcohol is even lower, but would produce those soft, blue flames. Propane may do the same thing.

Well, like everything, the cost keeps rising. Aside from the cost of the headers, I had to new exhaust gaskets; and I chose to buy new studs and nuts before I got started. Total cost from Nissan: $95.54.

In addition I bought new bolts, nuts and bushings for my new LCA'a at a cost of $90.63. They did, however, graciously give me a 20% discount on the parts, which is nice.

I still have to replace the entire exhaust, including cats. Hopefully, I will be able to get out all of my O2 sensors without damaging them,

Right now, it is too friggin cold out there to work on the truck.

This morning I put the wheels on the truck, and took it to Nissan to get it inspected. They got me right in without an appointment. It helps to know the service manager. It passed inspection, so now I have some time to work on this.

I got home about noon and started tearing things apart:

Old exhaust minus the passenger side cats and down tube.

It took some work to get the old stuff off...everyting is rusted together, but the driver's side headers are done.

It was a fair amount of work getting stuff out of there, but I was surprised I was able to get as far as I did. Passenger's side tomorrow.

Just for the fun of it, I had to start it up. Sounds like a Harley.
