Hey guys,

My name is Chris, and I am new to off-roading. I don't own an Xterra, but rather a Japanese import 1989 Mitsubishi Delica L300 Star Wagon(wow what a mouthful).

Anyway I love the van, and I just imported it a few weeks ago after a year of searching Japanese auctions, and working with an importer to get the van of my dreams. Yeah I know it's a weird thing to dream of.

On to why I'm here. I would love to try my hand at some off roading at some point once I get more comfortable with the van, and go through a few things to make sure it is a reliable rig. Do you guys do any sort of easy off roading that a newbie sports car guy like myself could handle? If so when, and where? I live in South-eastern MA, and work all over the place, so I am not afraid of travel.

Thanks,

Chris

Ahoy, Chris, and welcome aboard! pirate

Yes, there are some places we could take you to begin with. Where exactly in MA do you live? I'm on the South Shore.

Welcome Chris! I know the L300, coming from Asia where the vans are as common as the motorcycle. My uncle had one & loved it.

Is this the 4x4 version or the more common front wheel one?

Welcome from Boston/Brookline, let's see some pics!

Of the RX-7 too

Taunton/Freetown sound like what you're looking for. I'm not sure when the next run will be tho.

I might head out there to test out my suspension before the Back To School Run, if I do, I'll let you know.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I live in Carver, and work all over the south shore, cape, and islands.I spend a lot of time in the Brockton area. Here are a few pics. The van is the 4wd turbo diesel variant. Right-hand drive as well.

That van looks fun! I've heard they can be pretty capable too. Is the RX7 a 12A or 13B?

I work for Verizon in Brockton from time to time. I play hockey in Brockton as well.

My RX-7 is the 12A like all of the earlier ones. I have a 13B powered REPU as well. That's Rotary-Engine PickUp or REPU for short.

Right now it is to fix a torn CV axle boot, and install manual locking hubs. Beyond that I'm not sure as of yet.
