Hello Folks,

Just moved to US a few months back and zeroed in on the Xterra as I want to explore some off the beaten path with family and friends. Couple of weeks back, bought a 2011 Pro 4X with 38500 miles on the clock from a Honda dealership (I know the irony). Looking forward to some camping and mild trails and catch up in NE. Anyone in CT wanna catch up? If anyone needs any wrenching help, count me in, I can hold a wrench pretty well.

Cheers
Mohit

I would love to join but i have a stock X. Not sure of trail damage and capability. Also are these just a boys day out? Do you go out on trails with your family? What about kids in child seats. Sorry for all these stupid questions, I am still getting used to my kid in a child seat :D

If you don't want to bring your truck out on the trail, that's fine; there are usually empty seats, and all you have to do is ask for a ride.

No, it's not a "boys day out"; several members have brought their family and friends in the past. In fact one member - Dave (who recently moved to Texas) - used to bring his two sons with him on all trips... since they were in car seats!

Remove the mud flaps & side steps if you still have them on. They tend to cause more damage than they are useful on the trails.

No side steps just the mudflaps remain. I was going to leave it there till it broke. Wil sign up for the Summit run in the 21st. Hope the green trails are easy for a stock truck.

Take the sway bars off too, you'll be fine

Rear one - yes.
Front one - I'd advise against that for someone just starting out.

Or just remove the mud flaps, see how the truck feel offroad (since this is your first time) & then remove the rear sway bar before the next trip. That way you would be able tell for yourself what the difference is.

I'd leave the front one on too.... until of course, you decide to go hardcore like Justin/BKxterra718 .
