Camping at the NEXTerra Back to School Run - 2017

We are pleased to announce that NEXTerra will be handling camping arrangement for this years Back to School run. We will have exclusive use of the Safari Field (aka the South Field on the map) at the campground. The field has several outlets for power & water to be used as needed. Toilets, showers & laundry facilities are located centrally in the main campground.

The campground is making this available to us at a discounted rate. We need a minimum of 10 camping units (i.e. tent, RV or camper trailer) to signup to make this viable. Every additional camping unit we have in addition to the first 10, will reduce the camping fee each of us would need to pay.

Please reply to this post by 9/1/2017 to signup for camping. This is essential for planning purposes & to determine final cost per person.


Location: Sunset View Farm Campground, 57 Town Farm Rd, Monson, MA 01057


Camping Cost: $40 per tent **UPDATED**

Payment: Paypal (paypal@nexterra.org)

Day visitors (ie. those not camping at the field) must register at the main campground office & pay their visitor fees ($3/day, $7/night & $2/vehicle).


Signup Deadline for Camping: September 1, 2017. There's no guarantee of space, contact us if you missed the deadline.


Check-in: 3PM or later on Friday, 9/15
Check-out: 2PM or earlier on Sunday, 9/17


The Safari Field (labelled as the South Field in the campground map), is just passed the turn to the main campground office on Town Farm Road.

When you arrive at the Safari Field, you must check in with either Ernie/Bass4Runner or Suresh/DirtySocks. We will then check you in, direct you to your camping spot & also where you can park your rig.

As in the past, we expect most folks to arrive at base camp on Friday afternoon/night. Consider camping with us even if you live within driving distance as it's a great way to get to know others who belong to NEXterra & what we are all about.


Sunsetview Campground Info:
  • Quiet Hours - 11:00PM to 8:00AM. Campfires down at 11:00PM
  • Fires are not to be built anywhere except the fireplace on the site and MUST be attended AT ALL TIMES. Fireplaces cannot be moved.
  • Check-in is at 3pm and Check-out is at 2pm
  • Non-camping guests have to pay $5.00/car day fee at gate & must leave by 9pm. If not they get charged an overnight fee
  • Pets must have a current rabies vaccination certificate & must be registered at the office

Come hell or high water we'll be there.

Two Rigs (if I ever stop having problems and wrecking good parts by not measuring), two people, 1 tent. Be there Friday-Sunday.

Plastic and checkbook in hand. Let me know if there's anything I can help with as far as organization.

I stayed at this campground earlier this spring. Its a great place, very quite and it seems the people there are pretty tight night. On the surface they dont have any issues with off roaders.

In. 1 tent. Not 100% on occupants but if I had to guess this second: me, my son and the puppy.

Any chance the "per camper" is "per tent"? $144 is a little pricey for me to sleep on the ground :mrgreen:

The cost is per tent (camper was written to mean tent/RV/camper trailer), not the number of occupants.

Also seeing that the terminology is confusing, I changed it to 'camping unit'... which I'm hoping will lead to more clarity.
