I went shopping today for 42 people and heres what I have and what we may need.

I have 16 lbs of frozen hamburgers and 4 lbs of hotdogs which should be plenty.

We will need condiments and buns, but we should wait until Friday for the buns so they are fresh (I have mustard and ketchup) we may need relish or what ever you like, but Friday is simple. I bought American Cheese for cheeseburgers.

For Saturday, I have 3 Boston Butts (28 lbs) for pulled pork and 4 racks of ribs...they were on sale. I think I will do them St. Louis-style. The pork will yield about 25% less after smoking and pulling the bone so that should be plenty, figuring 1/4 lb per person, normally, this should yield, almost exactly 1/2 lb/person. Hopefully, we will have plenty. The ribs, well, they'll just be a snack. I will make my own rub and BBQ sauce, for those who like that stuff, which is great on ribs, but I will also make a Carolina finishing sauce which, IMHO, is the way to eat pulled pork. Some of you may want BBQ sauce on your pork. Either way is fine, but real pulled pork needs no BBQ sauce.

If I plan it right, I will start the Butts Friday and when we get home on Saturday all that will need to be done is allow them to rest for an hour and then pull them. No slaving over a hot grill for an hour.

I picked up 20 lbs of red potatoes for salt potatoes. If you're not from central NYS and never had them, you're missing a treat.

Hopefully, we can get corn on Friday at the earliest...fresh corn doesn't stay that way long. We will need cheap white buns for the pulled pork, again, we should get those fresh on Friday. Also, we will need cole slaw, just in case anyone likes their pulled pork South Carolina style.

I believe someone else is bringing paper/plastic dinner settings, right?

So to sum it up, we will need:

Buns (hotdog and hamburger for Friday) Hamburger buns for Saturday.

Fresh Corn - there are a couple of farm stands on the way to my house, so hopefully we can pick some up then.

Cole slaw...the stuff in the bag is fine. I would make my own, but I'm afraid I will run out of time.

Anything else?

Since this is a busy week for me, I prepped everything today. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures of the ribs when I did them.

First 10 lbs of Boston Butt rubbed...I love rubbing butts:

All 28 lbs rubbed and ready for the fridge:

BBQ sauce cooked and canned:

Finishing Sauce...I know it says Piggy Pat's, and their stuff is great. Best BBQ in Central NY, much better than that Dinosaur crap. I'm just reusing the bottles. Mine is very similar.

Why do I feel like I'll need to go on a serious diet this time next week?
