Welcome to the ECXC18 Trail Group Discussion!
This year there will be four (4) Group types; "Green" or “Stock”, "Blue" or “Intermediate”, “Black" or "Advanced” & ”SAS”.

"Green" or “Stock” - Stock trails range in difficulty from flat dirt roads to slightly off-camber and rocky trails. Stock trails are best suited for inexperienced wheelers and bone stock vehicles. Threat of vehicle damage is non-existent as long as you drive responsibly, however brush scratches are possible. Stock Trails include easier green trails.

"Blue" or “Intermediate” - Intermediate trails offer more of a challenge for slightly modified vehicles. Trails will be rockier, may have more off camber situations and may include rocky creek crossings. Bone stock vehicles can handle most of these trails, but without skid plates and rock sliders, both undercarriage damage and rocker panel damage should be expected. The threat of damage on these trails is minimal, but should not be unexpected. Careless or inattentive driving will result in body damage. Harder Green trails and easier Blue Trails at Rausch Creek would be taken in this group.

"Black or “Advanced” – If you are considering these I don’t really need to tell ya nutin. I wouldn’t run them without 33’s or bigger, a winch, full protection, a carefree attitude towards damage, the tools/parts/ability and supplies to repair breakage. Blue, Blue/Black, Black trails (depending on group make-up) will be run by this group.
Since anyone that signs up for an “Advanced” group and has been to Rausch in the past can lead a group there will not be an assigned “Advanced Trail Leader”. As soon as any two or more trucks show up in the morning they can go run trails and not stand around waiting for someone to hold their hand. If you are in any way uncomfortable with this you should run with an "Blue" or “Intermediate” group...at least for the first day.

"Red" or ”SAS” – “Solid Axle Shakeout” this will be for solid front axle modified trucks to deal with problems unrelated to IFS trucks.

Attendees will not be “Locked” into a group until they arrive.

Preference for individual an “Trail Leader” will be accommodated on a first come, first served basis.

Trails that are run by a group are determined by the groups “Trail Leader”.
Before you show up;:
  • Please review the NEXTerra Rausch Creek FAQ thread HERE.
  • Rausch is a membership-based facility. You must be a member to access the park! Click HERE for membership info.
  • Please review The NEXTerra Tech Inspection Checklist HERE
  • Please review the “The NEXTerra Trail Etiquette Guide” HERE

The Rausch Creek Office opens at 8am.

All attendees should start arriving at the park around that time and follow the instructions of the ECXC18 Staff in the Rausch parking lot each morning of the event.

As you arrive at Rausch each morning;

You will be greeted by a ECXC18 Staff member who will direct you to the area in the parking lot where you will line up.

A ECXC18 Staff member will meet you there and line you up in your Group and direct you to the ECXC18 Check In.

At Check In, hand in your completed NEXterra Waiver and Release of Liability, get your event package that includes your event shirt(s), sticker, Raffle tickets, etc.

Then go the Rausch Creek Office, hand in your completed Membership Application/Waiver (click HERE to download) and pay your Rausch Creek Entrance Fee(s).

Return to your truck, air down and otherwise prepare your truck for the trails.

There will be a short Drivers Meeting around 0900-0930 (9am-9:30am) each morning and then you will hit the trails!

There will be ECXC18 Staff members around all morning during this time and throughout each day to answer any questions you may have and help you with any problems that may arise.

You can find PDFs with descriptions of the trails on the East, West, South properties HERE and the Northeast property HERE.

You can find a PDFs with maps of the East HERE, West/South HEREand the Northeast HERE

The Rausch Office closes at 1800 (6pm), everyone should be off the trails by 1700 (5pm).
ECXC18 Staff will need to make sure everyone off the trails safely and notify Rausch that all of our Group is out of the park.
Saturday everyone should be off the trails by 1630 (4:30pm) because the Cookout back at Twin Grove is at 1830 (6:30).

Folks can play in the Comp area if they want but they are on their own. ECXC18 Staff will be off duty at Rausch at 1800 (6pm) Thursday and Friday, 1630 (4:30pm) Saturday.

Please post any questions about running trails with ECXC18 in this thread or PM me on this board.

If you think you’re in the wrong Group or do not want to Lead a Group you have been assigned to Lead let me know now.

If you are not included in the list it could be you have not signed up or have been overlooked (sorry). Let me know you plan to attend and I’ll add you to the list.

If you're marked down as "(PYMT DUE)" and plan to attend why not take a moment right now and pay. It would make it so much easier to plan your good time.

Thanks and hope to see you on the trail!
