If it's strut replacement time for you, look no further.

McMaster-Carr part #9416k28 for you gen 2ers. Not sure if they fit the first gen..

The spring ships with M8 threaded ends, so you'll either need to reuse your current ball socket or order new ones from them. In my case I had to order new ones because the thread size did not match up.

They throw my liftgate with gobi ladder up with ease! No assistance needed. If you keep wacking your head like I was, it's the best $40 you'll put into your X.

I know I was just talking to Jordan about these at the Toys for Tots Run.

I bought the 175 lb struts last winter, and Dave and Curt helped me install them. The stock ones were at their end of life; not only during the winter, but also during warmer months, the lift gate would end up hitting me in the head.

Here is a list of the parts I ordered from McMaster-Carr:

9416K79 10 mm Ball Socket, M8 Thread, Steel for, Gas Spring with Threaded Ends
9416K28 Gas Spring with Threaded Ends, 175 Force, 18.18" Extended Length, 7.87" Stroke
4185T12 Gas Spring Seal Protector, for .87" Cylinder Diameter
