I just had this done by http://www.blackstone-labs.com/index.html they send you a kit and you sample your oil and send it back to them with a check for 22.50 then they email the results.

My report shows a lot of dirt getting past the K&N filter resulting in increased engine wear for the oil change interval. Nothing showing a major problem but something to be aware of. I have double and triple checked the connections so it has to be the filter unless there is a leak somewhere I missed. Everything else looked good, no coolant leaks

I would be curious if anyone else with a intake would get this done and see if you guys have similar results...

I will be changing out my oil in the next couple of weeks.. it might be worth the analysis.

Interesting developments...

I sent the UOA to K&N and voiced my concerns about the contamination... after some back and forth emails they have decided that they want to inspect my intake and are having me reinstall the stock airbox to send the fipk back to them at their cost. Hopefully they can shed some light on what is up.

Two up for K&N and their customer service... they actually seemed sincerely concerned about the situation and want to correct it.

Very interesting, Mike. Is that the original filter I had?

Wow K&N is anxious to get my intake... there was a UPS pickup slip when I got home today... I have not even had a chance to swap it out yet!

Well sounds better than my dealings so far with Volant directly. Should know something by Monday about the order status for the missing parts bag. Always nice to see a vendor stand behind its product. Good Luck with your resolution to the problem Shmittey.

Well over 3 months later I have a brand new kit on its way to me, nothing out of my pocket other than the long wait.

I am trying to find out exactly what was the problem, they have not yet volunteered that information.

 Yes it is...

Kit arrived today: I checked it out and they have changed the design of the silicone hoses... By memory as they took the old ones back, they look like they refined the surface where the hose clamps would tighten. Looks like it will be a better seal. We will see.
