Well I openned the the local paper this morning and there was an article about BAnning ATV's and Off-road activity in the State of NJ (I was surprised there are legal places).

Apparently last weekend some men where riding illegal by the 287/87/Route 17 interchange on the NY/NJ boarder when a State Park Officer tried to stop them. The details are still unclear, but the officer shot a man 3x.

Now the state legistlators and enviromentalist are in an uproar. I know the area where this happened JonFund would host an event their every year until they found out it is illegal. Suchs as there are some challgening trails, but soon we'll only be limited to PAP and RC.

The Article

95% of the trails within 20 miles of Phoenix have been shut down..not by environmentalists raising a stink, but by suburban sprawl. Everyone wants to live in these secluded resort communities, and that means that they have to keep going farther and farther out....and 80% of the time, those are the people raising the stink about OHVs on public lands...it's incredibly stupid.

In our county there is no room left to develop so developers are buying golf courses to develop on. Crazy!

that just happened here. the old IBM 9-hole golf course (used to be owned by IBM as part of the (also former) IBM Country Club here in town. The country club was sold last year and now they are going to be building condos and businesss office buildings on top of the course. A real shame...its a very pretty course to drive by.

Wow IBM has or had a course up there. They have a training facility just over the NY line down here with a golf course. Cannot see it though as it has tight security.

Their Execs must like to golf.

IBM was started in Endicott. I spent a lot of time at the IBM Country Club growing up..mostly swimming at their pool during the summer. They also used to hold a carnival every other year...all the rides, drinks and food you could handle for free. It was amazing.

IBM sold off the Endicott plant to local investors a few years ago. They used to have three large campuses in the area...now they just rent some space in Endicott.

IBM Sucks!!!! I was making good money and living large on the road. Then IBM bought our company made 15% of salary bonus money with numbers impossible to reach and made us stay at the Motel 6. I quit.
