NYS Trails Council

Last Saturday I was selected to serve on the NYS Trails Council as a 4x4 delegate, working directly with the DEC, OPRHP, DOT, NYS Parks and Trails, etc as well as delegates from other user groups (hiking, biking, snowmobile).

One of the biggest items we do as delegates are presentations to the OPRHP and DEC about our trail needs and wants, what's working and what's not, and how we're dealing with other user groups.

If you have ideas, thoughts, concerns (of course!), feel free to PM or post here. I'm hoping to get a better understanding of needs from other parts of NY...not just my neck of the woods.

And if you ever want to meet up and discuss things we can, you only live 30 minutes from me.

Very nice, Steve. I already plan on getting involved with the Unit Management Plan process. Let me know what I can do to help.

up this way. Could meet near the Northway (17N) and head up to the lake or something...
